David Sturman has over 40 years of experience in the development and management of software technology.
He is a current advisor to Bain & Company's Technology Insights Group,
providing technical due diligence and value creation for private equity clients in Europe and the US.
He had a similar role with Tech Economy before it was acquired by Bain & Company, and
with Bulger Partners (now EY-Parthenon) before moving from Boston to Paris in 2019.
He is the co-founder and CTO of Stylaquin, an innovative e-commerce start-up that increase engagement and sales for online stores.
He is also a senior lecturer at the American University of Paris, teaching
courses in web applications and digital technologies in the Computer Science Department.
Since 2014, Dr. Sturman has been a consultant to US and European start-ups providing strategic and
technological support through challenging periods of growth. He also advises
and coaches technology executives.

Tercio Solutions, Virtual Software Solutions, Skedules, Percipio, eCurv, Veracross, and others.
In 2013-2014, Dr. Sturman spent 16 months building Audible's first satellite development office in
Cambridge, MA., growing the team from an intial seed of 6 to over 30 engineers.
In that time, the teams he managed delivered 7 software releases of Android
applications across three product lines.
Prior to Audible, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for
GenArts, the leading provider of visual effects software for the film and broadcast industries.
David was a founding member and Chief Technology Officer of Massive Incorporated where he
combined his expertise in graphics and games with his online expertise to create the
technology driving video games as a new advertising medium.
Microsoft acquired Massive in 2006 and David led Microsoft's technology development for
in-game advertising. While at Microsoft, David led the Interactive Advertising Bureau's
Committee on In-Game Advertising, drafting the industry's first guidelines for in-game advertising.
He is a past CTO of Acclaim Entertainment, formerly a leading developer and publisher
of console video games. While at Acclaim, he led the company's on-line games initiative and
instituted a program to coordinate software tool development across five formerly
independent game studios. He is also the former Vice President of Technology for
MaMaMedia, an award-winning Internet site for children, and served as Director of R&D
at Medialab Paris, where he spearheaded the development of 3D real-time computer puppetry
and virtual reality software.
David was an early computer graphics pioneer at Bell Laboratories and the New York Institute
of Technology Computer Graphics Lab and received a Ph.D. in computer graphics and animation
from the MIT Media where he pioneered the use of advanced computer input devices such as data gloves and force-feedback joysticks. He has also served as an adjunct professor for Columbia University
teaching videogame technology and design.
He is a founding member of the Boston CTO Club and the New York CTO Club.
